Why this blog?

Hello!

My name is Mitch and I am a software engineer. I’ve been working for a few years for the medical device industry, especially in medical imaging, telemedicine and … implantable medical devices.

Computer science is a small world with its own rules, languages and concerns, far from those of the medical device industry. With the tremendous pace of evolution in the software industry, powerful electronic chips with embarked software are now integrated into medical devices. Software is more and more present in the medical device industry and brings its own little problems, altogether with its huge benefits.

I write this blog to share my experience in this industry: the resources and links I gathered, the pitfalls I encountered, the solutions I found. I write also this blog to let people of quality assurance and regulatory affairs, with no or light software background, and people of software development, talk and understand one another – certainly the topmost goal.
